This is a vintage, rectangular nautical-themed trinket casket. The top lid features a highly detailed, embossed scene depicting three classic sailing galleon ships on rolling ocean waves, framed by elegant corner scrollwork filigree and a classic beaded border. The box is elevated by four decorative scroll-style corner feet. When opened, the underside of the lid reveals the silver-toned reverse imprint of the ship molding, exposing a clean, unlined bright copper/gold-toned storage basin.
Condition: Good. The brass plating displays authentic aged patina, with minor oxidation and light finish wear. The inside storage basin and underside panel show a dense network of fine surface scratches, along with a few minor tarnish spots. The long rear piano hinge is fully intact and aligned, allowing the lid to smoothly open and close. All four metal feet are firmly attached and structurally stable.
