This beautiful vintage Catholic religious devotion pendant is a mixed-metal Miraculous Medal (Medal of the Immaculate Conception). The front side features a stunning, raised 10K yellow gold oval center depicting the Virgin Mary with open arms casting rays of light, surrounded by a sterling silver border inscribed with the prayer: "O Mary conceived without sin pray for us who have recourse to thee 1830". The reverse side is solid sterling silver with the traditional Marian symbolism: the cross-and-bar intertwined with a capital "M", the Sacred Heart of Jesus crowned with thorns, the Immaculate Heart of Mary pierced by a sword, and the twelve stars. It is stamped clearly on the reverse with a manufacturer's maker's mark and metal hallmarks reading "STERLING" and "10K".
Condition: Very good. The metal details remain crisp and well-defined on both sides without significant pocket wear or smoothing. The gold center layer is firmly set within the silver frame. It shows a natural, light vintage silver patina and very fine surface cleaning scratches visible under close inspection. The top hanging loop is fully intact, completely closed, and structurally secure.
